I was formed long ages ago, at the very beginning, when the world came to be. When there were no watery depths, I was given birth, when there were no springs overflowing with water; before the mountains were settled in place, before the hills, I was given birth, before he made the world or its fields or any of the dust of the earth. (Proverbs 8:23-26 NIV)
Have you ever felt that God has abandoned you? Like everything in your life is going wrong and He is nowhere to be found?
If you have felt that way, you are not alone. Even Jesus experienced that feeling when He was on the Cross (Matt: 27:46).
I have certainly felt like that at times. I’ve come to realize though, that whenever things around me appear bleak it is because I have taken my attention off God, and have become unduly focused on my circumstances.
Sometimes the emptiness that we experience ourselves or witness in others, can make it hard to fathom that God’s Word shows us that His plan for His children is healing and wholeness. Friends, that is a fact that isn’t influenced by our circumstances, but our circumstances can be influenced by having and living by faith in Him and what HE says in His Word. The truth is that Jesus says, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Heb. 13:5) He said it, we can trust it!
Over recent times, the needs of some of my loved ones have increased, which increases my desire for physical healing NOW. I want to “be there” for them like they have been for me more times than I can count. Thus far, that hasn’t happened, but God has been bringing healing to my life in other ways. Thankfully, He has given me the faith to know that if my physical healing hasn’t happened yet that He has some reason for it. He is sovereign and His love for everyone, including me, is without any flaw whatsoever.
Whatever our situation or need, we may look around us and think that there is no hope and that it’s just not possible that things will work out. When we are feeling completely hopeless and that we are out of options, we need not despair because “with God all things are possible.” (Matt: 19:26)
Just as God created the heavens and the earth out of literally nothing, He can create the solutions to your needs. Psalm 40:1-2 NIV says, “I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.”
What miraculous things are you seeking from the Lord today? I encourage you to wait patiently for God’s answer to your life’s concerns. In His time, He will give you “a firm place to stand.”
My prayer is, “heavenly Father, thank you for your faithfulness. Please help me to be patient while I wait for Your answers to my prayers. Please help me to trust you more and to be confident that your way is always best. I know that nothing is too hard for you and that you alone are able to create solutions for my needs. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN.
