“God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? (Numbers 23:19 NKJV)
Has anyone ever lied to you? I suspect we all know that experience. Sometimes those lies have been intentionally deceptive, but that’s not always the case. Sometimes people simply speak what they honestly believe according to their perceptions of things, which is not always reality.
Scripture reminds us that, “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent.” That gives me comfort when I am seeking to know the truth about the important questions in life. The Bible, which is the Word of God that was inspired by the Holy Spirit, can be trusted to give us the truth that we need for every situation. Our situations in life are different, therefore the questions we ponder will differ, but unlike us humans, God sees and knows everything. Our heavenly Father speaks to us through the Bible, and that is the source of every answer to all of life’s questions that we will ever need.
God’s answer may not be exactly what we want or when we want it, but His ways and His timing are always perfect. Please be encouraged that if you are asking God for something, He hears you and He has an answer for you. If your prayers are not answered today, hang in there, the right time will come, even if His answer is “no” or “not yet”. If God says something in His Word, you can accept it as truth and stand on it in faith. “He is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent”. Even though God’s Word was written many years ago, the truth it contains hasn’t changed. God and His Word are true forever.
My prayer today is, “heavenly Father, Thank you for everything You do for me, which includes telling me the truths that I need to hear. Knowing the truth gives me peace and establishes the right path for my life. Please help me to trust You, while I am waiting for your answers to the my questions.”
