The Lord reigns, He is clothed with majesty; The Lord is clothed, He has girded Himself with strength. Surely the world is established, so that it cannot be moved. Your throne is established from of old; You are from everlasting. (Psalm 93:1-2 NKJV)
Have you ever felt as though your life was like a train headed for derailment? I certainly have. There have been times when I have felt that my life was following a path that would inevitably lead to disaster. Everything around me has seemed more convoluted than I felt I could handle.
When those times come, I need to remember that while things seem crazy and chaotic to me, God will never be caught “off guard” by anything that happens. I can trust Him to work in my circumstances for my ultimate good. Even when I cannot see into the future to know which way to go with life’s decisions, He knows everything. God is sovereign. He is Lord and king over all, and His kingdom will last forever. “He is clothed with majesty,” and is ready, willing and able to act on behalf of each of us.
His greatness and His majesty never changes, and when I acknowledge that and choose to trust Him, He is able to move in my life and circumstances in such a way that astounds me.
Things in life happen that I cannot explain or understand, but I can trust Him in the midst of every situation. I may not know why everything happens as it does until I enter into eternity, but thankfully, God knows. When life is uncertain and unpredictable, I can be confident that God will never change, and His ability to assist me through anything and everything, will never fail. All I have to do is ask for His help.
My prayer for today is, “Lord, thank you for the plans that You have for us. Please help us to realize Your strength and Your power, that You love all of us exactly the same, and that you desire to be the Lord of our lives.
